چکیده

یکی از عوامل پائین بودن میزان عملکرد زعفران در ایران، عدم اطلاعات کافی و ناآشنا بودن زعفران­کاران با  اصول کشت و کار علمی این گیاه نقدینه است. در این تحقیق، هدف این بود که با ارزیابی دانش کشاورزان استان خراسان جنوبی در مورد کشت زعفران، نقاط ضعف و قوت آنان مورد بررسی قرار گیرد تا بتوان از طریق انتقال یافته­های این پژوهش به متولیان و کشاورزان، قدم­های مؤثری را در جهت افزایش عملکرد، برداشت. برای بررسی این موضوع، پرسشنامه­ای محقق ساخت شامل 36 سؤال در مورد مسائل کاشت، داشت و برداشت زعفران و 13 پرسش پیرامون اطلاعات عمومی و سؤالات ترویجی به تعداد 235 عدد در بین جامعه آماری زعفران­کاران استان خراسان جنوبی به صورت تصادفی طبقه­ای(و برای اینکه نمونه نماینده جمعیت تحت مطالعه باشد) توزیع گردید. متغیر وابسته، نمره کل آزمودنی­ها برای پاسخ صحیح آن­ها بود. مقایسه آماری بین میانگین سطوح مختلف هر یک از متغیرهای مستقل (با اثر معنی­دار) با استفاده از نرم­افزار SAS و روش توکی-کرامر انجام شد.کسانی که در کلاس­های ترویجی شرکت نموده بودند، افرادی که تحصیلات آن­ها دیپلم و بالاتر بود و همچنین کسانی که محصولات خود را بیمه نکرده بودند در سطح معنی­داری  یک درصد، به تعداد سؤالات بیشتری، پاسخ صحیح دادند. کسانی که وام دریافت نموده بودند و افرادی که در روستا زندگی می­کردند در سطح معنی­داری 5 درصد، به سؤالات بیشتری، پاسخ صحیح دادند. لازم است از طریق برنامه­ریزی­های کوتاه­مدت و بلندمدت، سطح دانش کشاورزان منطقه را افزایش داد.
